Strategies for drinking all that water your body needs

Though there are many theories, in the effort to be simple, we advise the members on our TeamDau Wellness Weight Release Program to drink half of their body weight, in ounces, of water each day. Most experts agree that to up to 70 percent of our body is water. Muscle is made up of about 75 percent water. Fat is made up of about 50 percent water and bones, too, are about 50 percent water. The water we drink helps hydrate our bodies and flush toxins out of our systems that have been previously locked away in the abnormal fat. Here are some tried and proven strategies that other members have reported to work for them.

-Water at room temperature is easier to drink
-Space your portions out throughout the day
-Set little goals to drink a certain amount of water by a certain time. For example, drink one portion (8 oz or 16 oz) before you leave the house. Drink another portion on the way to work or school. Drink another portion before lunch. Drink another portion before you leave for home, etc.
-Fill a jug/container with the amount of water you need to drink each day and work at it all day long. When the jug is empty, you drank your water for the day.
-Keep a tally of how much water you are drinking, one hash mark per 8 or 16 oz portion, knowing how many hash marks you need to get your water allowance each day.
-Try to finish drinking your water before 7 or 8pm so you are not up all night “peeing out the fat.”

A thought that our members find somewhat comforting is the more weight you release on our program, the less water you’ll need to drink!

Vicki Dau and her husband Tom started their TeamDau Wellness Weight Release Program in July of 2010. Based on the HCG Protocol of Dr. ATW Simeons, they have added tracking materials, a cookbook and support to help their members reach their ideal created weight and stay there. Their mission is to bring Hope and Truth to the frustrated and discouraged. More information can be found on their comprehensive website

  1. Though not exactly environmentally or pocketbook friendly, here’s what I do on phase one: every morning I start out with a fresh 16oz bottled water. I take a sharpie and write down the following numbers: 9, 11, 12, 2, 4 and 6, which are times of the day. I know I have to empty my first bottle by 9am. Once I do, I put a slash through the 9, fill up the bottle, and know that I have until 11 to empty the bottle again, and so on. It helps to keep me on track so that I keep my water intake spread out throughout the day.
