Even the way I pray can affect my direction

I was reading today’s reflection in the book Jesus Calling .  It was the first time that I really connected with the proper way to pray that ties in the psychology of everything I have read about positive thinking.  I am going to quote the second paragraph so you can also benefit from the wisdom from this book.

“When you bring Me prayer requests, lay out your concerns before Me.  Speak to Me candidly;  pour out your heart. Then thank Me for the answers that I have set into motion long before you can discern results.  When your requests come to mind again, continue to thank Me for the answers that are on the way.    If you keep on stating your concerns to Me, you will live in a state of tension.  When you thank Me for how I am answering your prayers, your mind-set becomes much more positive.  Thankful prayers keep you focus on My presence and My promises.”

Right?

praying handsI don’t want to be in a state of tension, but I’ve always heard to pray without ceasing. Now I can do that, being confident in his plan of shear goodness for me.  And I really need that groove to be dug deep!
