Diet drinks may be free of calories but they are not free of consequences.
What is one to do? Decide for yourself what battles you are fighting right now. Take one unhealthy habit and work at replacing it with a healthier one. For some people, cold turkey is the way to go. Others need more of a “dip the toe in water” approach.
If you would like to reduce or eliminate the negative effects of diet drinks, decide if you are going to quit cold turkey or gradually. Then, pick a day, soon. And start. Take each decision one day at time. Then one day becomes two days, becomes a week, becomes a month. Be ready to push your restart button for slips ups. Don’t throw in the towel, just restart. 3 steps forward and one step back is still two steps forward.
And don’t just quit the bad habit, replace it with a healthier one. If you are trying to stop drinking diet coke, and you are tempted to drink, have pure water instead or some pure herbal tea-hot or iced. .Don’t replace your diet cola with cola. Two of my favorite replacements for diet pop is water with a drop or two of Young Living’s Tangerine Oil and Boresha’s Nuvo Gene Tea.
